Misurata Municipality has imposed a full lockdown after the confirmation of Covid-19 cases in the city.

The council announced a 24-hour curfew starting from Sunday for a week. "Residents will be forbidden from venturing out of their homes except for those rending health services and members of the High Crisis Management Committee," the municipal Council stated.

Flights were also suspended to and from the city only for emergency or cargo flights.

The resolution called on the Security Directorate and all security agencies to strictly implement these measures and show zero tolerance to those who defy these confinement measures, in order to stem the epidemic and save lives.
