Misrata Municipal Council announced on Monday the resumption of work at the Dafniya checkpoint, west of the city, after a number of wounded fighters closed it for several hours on Sunday evening demanding treatment.

The Municipality said in a statement that it had held a meeting with some representatives of the protesters and listened to their demands, confirming that the meeting resulted in an agreement to reopen the coastal road and remove the sand barriers.

It also formed a committee that included a member of the municipal council and representatives of the protesters to communicate with the Government of National Accord to address their demands.
