Flights at Misrata International Airport resumed on Thursday, a day after the workers of the Libyan Company for Ground Handling ended their strike.

The Spokesman of Misrata International Airport, Sulaiman Juhaimi, stated that the handling company, which held a strike due to a lack of payment of salaries for seventeen months had put the public interest first by ending the strike and returning to their duties after giving them guarantees that their wages will be put as a priority in conjunction with airport administration.

The workers began a strike last Sunday in protest at the delay in payment of their salaries, a move which left airport administration with no choice but to divert all flights to Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli.
