The head of the Information Office at Misrata International Airport Walid Mahjoub confirmed Saturday the continuing of the closure of air traffic in the airport for the fourth consecutive day and the transfer of all flights to Mitiga Airport in Tripoli.

Security staff at Misrata Airport announced on May 16 a suspension of work after an attack by outlaw groups on the customs office at the airport.

Misrata International Airport has returned to work on May 10 after completing the maintenance work of the runway.

Update: Flights are due to resume on Monday, May 21, according to a news briefing by Misrata Airport
