Ahmed Mismari, the spokesman for Haftar’s militia, attacked the ceasefire initiative announced by the Presidential Council (PC) and the Tobruk-based House of Representatives (HoR) simultaneously.

In a press conference on Sunday, Mismari claimed that there were meetings held by PC forces in preparation for an attack on the city of Sirte, describing the ceasefire initiative as “propaganda and pulling the wool over eyes”.

He indicated that their forces are “in fighting positions and prepared to deal with advancement by anybody towards the city of Sirte”. He did not however, refer in his presser, in any way whatsoever, to Aquila Saleh’s demand for a ceasefire.
