The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport Hisham Abushkiwat revealed that the ministry will allocate five million dinars for the project of expanding and developing the departure lounge and the runway of Misrata Airport, according to the information office of the Municipal Council Misrata.
The Municipal Council Misrata clarified that Abushkiwat affirmed to the member of the Municipal Council Mohamed Al-Toumi that the ministry had approved the request transmitted by the airport's authority to the Ministry of Planning in pursuance of the Presidential Council decision in this regard.
The Municipal Council pointed out that Abushkiwat will conduct a field visit during the next week to Misrata Airport, accompanied by a technical committee to examine the needs of the airport, which currently runs all the scheduled flights to the airport of Tripoli’s Mitiga Airport, given the conditions in the capital Tripoli.
