The Ministry of the Interior announced the establishment of a main department to secure the upcoming elections, comprising of, not only security directorates, but also a number of security agencies, along with the participation of the National Safety Authority and the Passports Authority, Nationality and Foreign Affairs Authority, in order to support the official security directorates in the case of any emergencies.
This came during Minister Khaled Mazen’s meeting with the security departments to coordinate all efforts to secure the elections, at which it was also agreed to establish a reserve force with the participation of female elements.
