The Ministry of Interior confirmed the right of citizens to protest peacefully in order to express their opinion, in accordance with the laws in force, noting that it will impose conditions to permit protests.

In a statement, the ministry demanded that every protest should have an organized committee that would provide the security directorate within its district with a written notice, which includes the date, the timing of the protest, the location, and their route, and to present it to the ministry before the date of the protest by at least 48 hours.

The ministry added that weapons are forbidden in any protests, even if it was a licensed one.

It explained that these measures intend to protect people taking part in peaceful protests and to provide them with a secure environment for expressing their views, in addition to obstruct all those who seek to threaten the public security, according to the statement.
