Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for illegal immigration, Mohammed Al-Shaibani has stressed the need to support the desert rescue operations of migrants, as being a flowing source of migrants and a hotspot for human traffickers from south to north.
This came during his meeting on Tuesday, in Tripoli, with the head and members of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Libya.
Al-Shaibani emphasized the need for supporting the voluntary repatriation for illegal migrants, to ensure their safe return to their countries, as well as providing them with health care and assisting migrant holding centres.
