Postponement of the new school year and the teachers' sit-in are “tendentious" rumors published by some social networking pages in order to inflame public opinion, The Ministry of Education's Media Liaison Office reported.

The office warned of being duped by the lies and false news spread by these pages, which bedeviled many teachers, noting that the academic year is to begin on October 15 as announced by the Ministry a month ago.
