Minister of Interior of the Presidential Council (PC), Abdul Salam Ashour, revealed Monday that the Central Security Service of the Ministry will take over responsibility for security at Mitiga Airport, while the Special Deterrent Force (SDF) stationed at the airport at present, will be entrusted with other tasks, without specifying them.

In a press conference at Mitiga Airport, Ashour explained that arrangements are being made to reorganize the security force inside the airport, pointing out that the air traffic will resume in the airport within days.

Earlier, The Chairman of the PC issued orders to the Interior Minister Abdul Salam Ashour to establish a regular police force to protect and secure Mitiga Airport, the only gateway to Tripoli by air.
