Eyewitnesses from the Sidra area, south of Tripoli, said that a mine, planted by warlord Khalifa Haftar’s militia in southern Tripoli, exploded on Wednesday, hitting a vehicle belonging to the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL).

The vehicle was carrying three workers, who were reportedly moderately injured, according to those who witnessed the incident.

The GECOL stated that the three technicians were swiftly transferred to a nearby clinic for immediate treatment, whilst announcing that the injuries to their employees were as a direct result of the explosion of a mine, a remnant of war, which was intentionally set by Haftar’s militia’s as they fled Tripoli.

The electrical technicians were merely performing their work, which was to restore the flow of current to the Ain Zara area when they were unexpectedly hit and injured.
