Military and security agencies Tuesday convened a meeting upon instructions of Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah to discuss mechanisms for controlling and securing the border strip with neighboring countries and the flow of illegal immigration.

The officials reviewed the outcomes of the national team committee for border security and management, as well as the difficulties, obstacles, shortcomings, and ways to overcome them.

Among the participants, the Chief of Staff of the Border Guard, the Director-General of the Customs Authority, the Head of the Immigration Control Service, and a representative of the European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, besides several officials from the Prime Minister's office.
