The Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Aqila Saleh, in his capacity as the “supreme commander” of the military forces in eastern Libya, promoted 39 officers in the ranks of Khalifa Haftar`s armed groups.
Saleh cited that the promotions were given to those officers for their remarkable efforts during the past period.
Among those are the son of Khalifa Haftar, Khaled, and the son of the military governor of the eastern region, Abdul Razek Al-Nadori, in addition to a number of relatives of Haftar.
Khaled and his brother Saddam are civilians who have never entered military or security colleges, yet they now hold military ranks and lead the two largest military brigades in the east of the country.
