The “Alarm Phone Project” which is affiliated with the “Watch the Med” said on Monday that the Libyan coast guard had intercepted a migration boat carrying more than 110 people, after it had launched a distress call to rescue them.

“We are happy that they survived, but unfortunately they were forcibly returned to the place from which they tried to escape”, the project added, stressing that Libya is not a safe haven for migrants, according to the Italian news agency AKI.

The humanitarian project stated that another migration boat carrying an unspecified number of migrants also faced the same fate, confirming the safety of them.
