German Chancellor, Angela Merkel said that Libya's conflict is not just an African problem, calling for a greater role for the African continent in bringing peace to Libya.

This came during her meeting with the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, as the latter prepares to assume chairmanship of the AU.

Merkel emphasized the need for African expertise to resolve the conflict in Libya. "This cannot be done without African expertise," South African media quoted her as saying on Saturday.
