The Head of Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, received Tuesday a letter from the President of the Republic of Congo-Brazzaville, Denis Sassou Nguesso, who is serving as Chairman of the African Union High-Level Committee on Libya.

The letter was delivered by Congo-Brazzaville Foreign Minister, Jean-Claude Gakosso, who conveyed the greetings of Nguesso and the Congolese people to the Libyan people, wishing stability, prosperity and peace to Libya, according to a statement by the Media Office of the Presidential Council on its Facebook account.

The Congolese Foreign Minister expressed his country as well as African Union member states’ readiness to support the Libyans to reach a political solution that paves the way for parliamentary and presidential elections as soon as possible, stressing that Libya had an active role in the African Union and that it would overcome its crisis and return to assume its place in the continent and globally. On his part Menfi praised the efforts of Congo.
