The head of the Presidential Council (PC), Mohammed Menfi, discussed on Tuesday with the German ambassador to Libya, Michael Ohnmacht, the latest developments in the political scene in Libya, including the elections, due to be held next December.

They also spoke about Libya’s participation in the international conference, due to be held over the next two days in Paris, covering the preparations for holding elections with the cooperation of various countries seeking to assist in the stabilization of Libya.

The media office of the PC indicated that Menfi applauded Germany’s positive role towards the Libyan file, through the Berlin I and II conferences and its presentation of relevant and effective proposals to achieve stability in Libya.

For his part, Ohnmacht confirmed that the Paris conference on Libya is an extension of the Berlin Conference in its first and second editions, whilst also confirming the attendance of German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the conference.
