The head of the Presidential Council (PC), Mohammed Menfi, held discussions on Sunday with the British Ambassador to Libya, Caroline Hurndall, on support for the national reconciliation project, the continuation of the ceasefire, along with support for the work of the Joint Military Committee (JMC) 5+5 to achieve stability to smooth the pathway for elections, due to be held in December.

The media office of the PC reported that the British ambassador confirmed, during the meeting, Britain’s full and continued support for the PC and the Government of National Unity (GNU) and to work to restore Libya’s rightful role in the international community.

For his part, Menfi reiterated the relevance of the depth of relations between both countries, admiring Britain’s supportive position for Libya in all international forums, by helping to facilitate the path to a political settlement, expressing his hopes to develop bilateral cooperation with Britain in many and various fields.
