40 members of the House of Representatives (HoR) held a meeting Sunday in the city of Zawiya, west of Libya, to discuss the mechanism to reshape the Presidential Council (PC).

The meeting took place in the presence of the First Deputy Speaker Fawzi Al-Nuwairi and members of the HoR, mostly from the western region.

In a press statement following the meeting, MP Mohamed Hanish explained that the attendees agreed on the restructuring of the PC to consist of a President and two deputies, in addition to the unification of the sovereign institutions.

They also agreed on the need to prepare for the presidential and parliamentary elections after the constitutional referendum.
