Nine of the participating members in the Geneva talks have called for the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) envoy, Ghassan Salame, to openly condemn those responsible for indiscriminately bombing Tripoli, targeting civilians and infrastructure.

The members went on to demand in a statement on Friday, that UNSMIL should name the aggressors and initiate a system to bring to justice those violating the Security Council’s agreed ceasefire.

The signatories of the statement also called on the Security Council, to honor its responsibilities, which include the protection of civilians and creation of the appropriate environment for political discussions.
