A Member of Parliament, Ziad Daghim, accused Parliament Speaker, Aqailah Saleh of blocking the elections by obstructing the approval of the government’s budget by refusing to put it to a vote.

In a post on his Facebook page, Daghim called on the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, to initiate the provisions of the political agreement and to submit the budget to the Presidential Council (PC), along with the Central Bank of Libya for approval.

Daghim indicated that there will be no allocations to the High National Electoral Commission (HNEC), and no elections, for that matter, without an agreed budget, calling on Dbeibah to be firm and uncompromising in saving the citizens of this country, who suffer as a result of this ridiculousness, as he put it.
