A member of the Libyan Constitution Drafting Assembly LCDA, Hadi Abuhamra, said on Friday that the meeting of the LCDA with the UN mission and foreign ambassadors was to confirm the need to complete the constitutional process before entering any elections.

In a press statement, Abuhamra stressed the importance of the adoption of the elections on the permanent constitution approved by the LCDA, which awaits the referendum, adding that the members of the LCDA who met with the UN mission stressed the need to preserve the exclusive national ownership of the constitutional process.

Abuhamra pointed out that the matter is in the hands of the Libyan people, firstly by electing members of the LCDA and ending with the referendum on what it has achieved, and that there should be no foreign guardian on Libyans in shaping their future.
