Mayors of Greater Tripoli called on the Presidential Council (PC) to deploy a commission of inquiry with their participation, to ensure a fair distribution of load shedding hours between cities, and obligate the general electricity company to disclose those who obstruct the distribution process.

In a joint statement, the mayors called for the assignment of neutral experts to the new board of directors of the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL), and for establishing a national committee assisted by international experts to study the status of the electricity company and identify the root causes of the deficit, as well as ways to overcome it.
