The Mayor of Ubari Municipality Ahmed Khalifa said on Sunday that they have received no clarification yet from the Presidential Council (PC) regarding the procedures for the return of the Turkish company operating the gas-fired power plant in Ubari.

In a press statement, Khalifa clarified that the Vice Chairman of the PC Ahmed Hamza and the Minister of Local Government Baddad Gansu visited Turkey the last two weeks to discuss the return of the Turkish company "ENKA Teknik" operating the power plant, noting that they have not been informed of the outcomes of the visit until this moment.

The Mayor pointed out that security in the city is relative, the same as in other Libyan cities, indicating that the security conditions depend on civil society in the first place.

He also added that security services do not possess sufficient capacity to secure the city because of lack of support.
