The Mayor of Sabha Hamed al-Khayali said on Sunday that the armed groups of Khalifa Haftar withdrew from their positions in Sabha after the news circulated about the deterioration of his health condition.

In a press statement, al-Khayali clarified that the committee formed by the Presidential Council is carrying out its work from Tripoli and not from the conflict zone, accusing it of failing to fulfil its duties or to end the suffering of the people in the south.

He stressed in his statement that the Libyan rival governments are aware of the 20 thousand mercenaries who are roaming the south, but did nothing in response.

Sabha Medical Center reported that at least 12 people have been killed and 55 others injured as a result of the clashes that took place in the city from February 4 to April 21.
