Mayor of the Municipal Council of Jadu, Saeed Al-Badrani has announced his resignation from his post after assuming office for five years.

In a video statement, Al-Badrani said he was unable to provide his city with good services due to the instability the country is experiencing and the Coronavirus outbreak.

The former mayor noted that there were several obstacles hindering his work, most notably the centralization system and the failure to transfer competences to the municipalities, as he put it.

Al-Badrani submitted his letter of resignation to the heads of localities since the beginning of 2020 but was rejected at the time due to its coincidence with Haftar's aggression on the capital so as not to be exploited by Haftar's media, according to his statement.
