In a meeting with Vice Chairman of the Presidential Council, Ahmed Maiteeq, the Mayor of Al-Swani town, Shaaban Suissi, has called for the Security Directorate and its police stations within the municipality to be reactivated and put in duty.

Suissi called for coordination with the Central Bank of Libya to reopen banks in the town, so that citizens can withdraw their salaries, which in turn will help ease the pressure on central Tripoli banks.

The municipality of Swani has suffered from unstable security conditions since late 2014, which resulted in all banks operating in the town to leave for safer areas.
