Air traffic returned to Matiga airport hours after flights were diverted to Misrata airport Late Wednesday night.
Flights were rerouted and airspace closed after a number of air traffic control staff departed the airport due to the actions of an armed group that stormed the building.
There is yet to be any comment from the airport administration or Civil Aviation Authority.
The information office of Misrata International Airport confirmed on its official Facebook page that the transfer of flights from Matiga to Misrata Airport was due to security conditions, without giving further clarification.
