Member of the Presidential Council (PC), Ahmed Maiteeq attended the Arab-Austrian Economic Forum in the Austrian capital on Wednesday to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Chamber of Commerce under the auspices of the Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen.

During his speech at the forum, Matieeq stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between Libya and Austria in all economic, trade, and investment fields and to push forward efforts to create a strong economic partnership between the two countries, underscoring his government's determination to move towards construction and development despite the current aggression waged against the capital Tripoli.

Libya is considered a senior Arab partner in terms of trade exchange with Austria, where the trade balance in 2018 exceeded one billion dollars; "985" million dollars of which are Libya's exports to Austria and around "44" million dollars imports, in addition to the cooperation between the two countries in the iron and steel industry and in the health sector.
