Maiteeq reviews problems of southern municipalities

Vice President of the Presidential Council (PC), Ahmed Maiteeq, conducted Sunday an online meeting via Zoom with mayors of nine southern municipalities to look into the problems and difficulties impeding their work.

The mayors put forward a list of demands including, activating the decision to establish the cabinet office in the southern region, completing the Ubari Gas Station, equipping the airports located in the municipalities of Fezzan, and resuming domestic and foreign flights.

They also called on the PC to work to identify the needs of the Fezzan region and to implement the road project connecting areas of the south through the budget embarked on developing the southern district, besides arranging emergency budgets for the municipalities to deal with bottlenecks.

For his part, Maiteeq emphasized that steps have been put in place to help municipalities overcome the difficulties that are hampering effective delivery of services.
