Member of the Presidential Council (PC) Ahmed Maiteeq has discussed with the Chairman of the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL), Abdul Majid Hamza, means to find quick solutions to avoid a deficit in the electricity network.

The meeting, which was attended by the Ministers of Interior Abdul Salam Ashour and Finance Minister Osama Hammad focused on the need to prevent an expected deficit in mid-December estimated at 1,700 megawatts, according to the Information Office of the Presidential Council.

The Information Office pointed out that Maiteeq stressed the need to return the executing company of Ubari power steam plant before next winter and to offer it protection in order to cover the needs of the southern region.
