A source from the city of Abyar in eastern Libya revealed that an armed group belonging to Haftar's son "Khalid" had taken over all the machinery of the Brazilian company based in the municipality.

The source, who refused to disclose his identity, said the Brazilian company was working in the town until the uprising in February 2011, however, local people kept guarding its headquarters and equipment, hoping the situation would improve and the company would resume work.

An armed militia affiliated to Khalid Khalifa Haftar attacked the site and looted all the machinery and equipment of the company, which was worth around 80 million Libyan dinars, according to the source.
