The Minister of Local Government, Badad Qansu, met with senior officials of the ministry on Sunday to discuss the preparations, arrangements, and mechanisms for holding the upcoming municipal council elections in 2018.
In a statement issued after the meeting, Qansu said that the municipalities are ready to work with the government in order to hold elections on time and without delay.
He added that the security conditions inside the country are appropriate to conduct elections that will help lead Libya out of its crisis.
