Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Muhammad Al-Qiblawi has said that some of the statements issued by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) contain several falsifications.
"The GNA does not count on the UN, especially in light of the division between major powers over the Libyan file, which negatively and directly affects the work of the mission and undermines its efforts," Al-Qiblawi told Russian Sputnik news agency.
He called on the UN mission in Libya to join the GNA as the internationally recognized government in its efforts in monitoring and documenting war crimes, noting that the coronavirus pandemic has negatively affected efforts towards a settlement to the conflict in Libya.
