A patrol boat of the Libyan Coast Guard has rescued 37 illegal immigrants from off the coast of Khoms city on Sunday, the Libyan Navy confirmed.

"The rescue operation took place 53 miles north of Al-Khoms city. The migrants were of 7 different Arab and African nationalities," the Libyan Navy Information Office said

The rescued migrants were brought back to the disembarking point of the Coast Guard of the city of Khoms and were provided with the necessary humanitarian and medical assistance, according to the Libyan Navy Information office, pointing out that they have not been handed over to the Anti-Illegal Immigration Service.
