The Libyan Coast Guard confirmed the rescue of 300 illegal immigrants aboard three separate rubber boats, northeast of Tripoli.

"A coast guard patrol boat received information on Friday, regarding the tracking of three boats; one was 80 miles away, the second about 55 miles, and the third was floating 44 miles northeast of Tripoli, Libya's Coast Guard clarified in a statement.

The migrants were disembarked in Tripoli Naval Base and provided with humanitarian and medical assistance, before being handed over to the Immigration Service of the Sikka and Janzour, according to the Coast Guard.
