The Libyan Coast Guard has intercepted 150 illegal immigrants of Arab and African nationality off the Libyan coast.

"Three rubber boats, carrying about 148 migrants, including 15 women and 11 children, were intercepted by the Libyan Coast Guard off Zuwara and Sabratha coast west of Tripoli," Spokesman for the Libyan Coast Guard, Ayoub Qassem has said, confirming that the migrants were returned to the gathering and departure centre in Tripoli.

Human rights groups oppose the return of illegal immigrants to Tripoli because conditions in immigration centres do not meet international standards, according to them, while the EU countries are refusing to receive the migrants.
