The Libyan Supreme Court has joined the Conference of Constitutional Jurisdictions of Africa (CCJA) with full membership.

The Supreme Court said on its official website on Friday that this comes within the framework of the Court’s attempt to fully cooperate with judicial bodies internationally to exchange experiences and previous studies, with a view to enhancing the constitutional judiciary on the African continent generally.

The Executive Office of the Constitutional Jurisdictions of Africa was established by a decision of the African Union in 2011.

The Office presently includes 45 constitutional bodies and three observers belonging to constitutional bodies from outside of Africa.
