Secretary-General of the Libyan Red Crescent, Marie Al-Darsi, has reviewed with the Congo's Health Minister Jean Gascius the health challenges facing migrants in Libya.

The issue was raised during Al-Darsi's visit and his accompanying delegation to the capital of Congo, Kinshasa, said the Red Crescent on Sunday.

A survey conducted by the German-based Statista last March found that around 60 percent of the migrants in Libya find it challenging to access healthcare because it was too expensive. Another 53 percent of them were concerned about contracting the coronavirus at health facilities.

The Red Crescent indicated that the meeting was also an opportunity to discuss efforts towards improving cooperation and coordination in humanitarian action between the two parties.
