The Libyan Navy has rescued more than 200 illegal immigrants off the coast of Zawiya, including 33 women and 14 children.

"The immigrants - who were of African nationalities- were found on a rubber boat, 48 miles north of Zawiya city," the Libyan Navy Information Office said in a statement Saturday.

Aid and assistance were provided to the rescued migrants at the landing point of "Hamidiya" in Tajoura, before being handed over to the Anti-Illegal Immigration Authority.
