A spokesman for the Libyan Navy announced that 126 migrants were rescued from possible drowning at sea, in the Libyan search and rescue area, northwest of Tripoli.

The spokesman explained that a naval rescue boat carried out a successful rescue operation on Friday morning involving 126 migrants, having received a distress signal to the Libyan Search and Rescue Center, claiming that a rubber boat needed assistance with a relief and rescue operation.

According to a statement by the Libyan Navy, the migrants were disembarked at the port of Tripoli, where humanitarian and medical aid was delivered.
