The Libyan Judges Organization (LJO) condemned in a statement, the armed attack on the HQ of the prosecutor's office and the first instance court of eastern Benghazi last Thursday, in an attempt to free a number of detainees.

"The attack aims to disrupt the judicial work and obstruct the work of the Court, which is already operating in harsh conditions," the LJO explained.

The organization denounced the state of insecurity in Benghazi and the inability of government institutions there to carry out their duties, calling on the Ministry of Interior to assume its responsibilities in order to provide security for citizens and state institutions.
