The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan Investment Authority (LIA), Ali Mahmoud, has held talks with US Secretary of Commerce, Wilbur Ross, on matters concerning the protection of Libyan assets and the development of mutual economic cooperation.

Mahmoud and Ross, along with the Assistant Undersecretary of the US Treasury, Sigal Mandelker, also discussed on Tuesday mechanisms for the LIA to invest in a transparent manner.

The meeting also touched on the development of economic and trade cooperation, and to encourage and support investment by both countries, as well as ways for the LIA to benefit from investment opportunities available in the United States.
