The Presidential Council (PC) condemned on Tuesday the armed attack on a government shelter housing migrants in Qaser Bin Ghashir area south of Tripoli by warlord Khalifa Haftar's armed groups, which resulted in the injury of several migrants with gunshot wounds.

"The area of Qaser Bin Ghashir is considered a dangerous region due to the military operations taking place there," the PC spokesman Muhannad Younis said, pointing out that this hampers the work of the relief squad and the evacuation operations carried out by the Red Crescent.

Younis emphasized that the incident amounts to crimes against humanity and is a serious violation of humanitarian law and a war crime, stressing that international organizations and tribunals will be provided with all the data in this regard.
