Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov will visit Rome on August 26, to hold talks with his Italian counterpart, Luigi Di Maio, on several files, foremost of which is the Libyan file.

Lavrov will visit Rome to discuss and exchange views with Italian officials on a number of regional issues, foremost of which are Libya, Afghanistan, Syria and developments in the Mediterranean, according to the Italian Ansamed Agency.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity, Najla Al-Manqoush, visited Moscow on Thursday, during which she discussed with her Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov the situation in Libya and appreciated Russia's efforts to “establish a ceasefire in the country”, as she put it.
