The Libyan embassy in Spain’s capital, called on all members of the Libyan community living in Madrid, not to venture out of their homes, other than when absolutely necessary, as a result of a severe snowstorm which hit the capital.

This came in a statement published by the embassy on Saturday, which included an emergency telephone number, advising that this number would be available around the clock in order to assist all members of the Libyan community.

The embassy further explained that the current snowstorm is the worst to hit since 2012 and has led to the disruption of traffic after it was confirmed that almost 500 vehicles were stuck in heavy snow.
