A group of employees in the Libyan embassy in Cairo forcibly closed the embassy on Monday morning, barring staff members and diplomats from entering its premises.

A source from the embassy said that they were taken by surprise when a number of the embassy's employees prevented anyone from entering the embassy, saying that the embassy is loyal to the Tripoli-based government, which rejects Haftar's war on Tripoli.

The Egyptian authorities later managed to contain the situation and reopen the embassy again, according to the same source.
