The Libyan Embassy in Cairo has announced the suspension of work from Sunday until further notice.

Fawzi Tantosh, Charge d'Affairs of the embassy has attributed the step for security reasons, including repeated attacks against the embassy's HQ and constant blackmail, which constitutes a threat to the safety of the embassy's staff.

He underscored that work is underway with the Egyptian security authorities in order to put an end to such abuses and provide security and protection to the embassy's employees.
