The Interior Ministry said Monday that 84 illegal migrants including women and children were rescued off the coast of Zuwara, west of Tripoli.
A local fisherman from the city spotted the wrecked boat and informed the Coast Guard on the incident.
The migrants were brought to shore by a Libyan Coast Guard vessel and later were referred to the competent authorities, the Ministry of Interior explained, adding that the migrants were of different nationalities.
